breathing problems, etc. if you have not already.Sorry to hear about your problems with your wife...It will be okay!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I ran out early on my meds of course,,,about 5 days early. I can get a refill the day after tomorrow. Also, expecting some Fed Ex in the next few days or so......It has been kind of rough...unforetunatly, I have a bottle of Tussionex to get me by. I am so ready to just give this up.why does it have to be so hard? Why do I feel like I cannot function without them?

Michelle, hang in there. It sounds like you are doing good.

Re: Somas And Benzo's

I have an extreme allergy to codeine (includes vicodin or anything in that classification)-- gets me VERY sick -- Vomiting sick -- ichy and causes rashes. However, I have had a herniated disk and have been prescribed Soma and Darvocett and never had any trouble tolerating them. Also, I haven't noticed addictive issues with Soma either. Once the back spasms stop, the "need" to take them does not continue. I would venture to say that there may be Soma/w codeine -- but that would have to be labled as such. Just my two cents... for what it's worth! Positive thoughts to all! I know everyone is different in their bodies response to medications.

Re: Somas And Benzo's

I just read some of the other replies and I hope I didn't appear insensitive in my previous response. I was just stating my experience with Soma -- and I do realize our bodies can be so different -- what may an addicting substance for one person isn't for another. It is just so hard to know! My concern is; when pain management turns has the potential to become addiction and that is why I have been following this board. I have a chronic condition and have been on pain medication off and on for a few years. I do find I take the medication just when I need it -- when I am in pain; and don't ever run out of refills early; however. I still worry about the potential of addiction and want to ensure I am taking the medication for the appropriate reasons. I have found it very informative and have enjoyed the honesty and support I have seen amongst this group. I will take the time over the next couple of days to introduce myself properly!

Re: Somas And Benzo's

I'm w/toomany on this one. I guess it all depends on what your drug of choice is... Just like me and Michelle... we are addicted to hydro, but we are not abusing our xanax so we are not addicted to it. I can't imagine abusing it since it just makes me sleepy if I take too many. But yes, Xanax is addicting. But I can definitely speak from experience when I say that you can get addicted to Somas, both physically and emotionally. My mother was addicted my whole life to somas but for some reason, chose lortabs late in her life and then those are what killed her from the tylenol. I think she thought she could take as many lortabs as she did Somas... Wrong, if you don't have a tolerance already built up. I never knew how many Somas she would take a day but she had so many seizures form withdrawing from those things. She was probably in 7 or 8 detox centers and had her stomach pumped about 10 times. She just couldn't beat it. I'm telling you... and my aunt has told me to because she used to take them... that if you take enough, there is a 'magical' feeling for just a few minutes before you go to sleep. My mother used to fall asleep driving, eating, smoking, everything. It was horrible to watch!! Im sorry, this just touched a nerve with me because I know first hand how bad they can be. She would shake really bad after she took a lot. It was horrible...
