Talking Re: Nexium vs. Others?

Just thought I'd add that last night I tried some tea made by Yogi Teas called Kava Stress Relief, not because I think I'm stressed, but because I see it contains Kava, an anxiety-alleviating herb with a side benefit of being an antispasmodic. Anyway, the flutters went away within 30 minutes of me drinking a mug of this stuff and they haven't come back yet this morning. Coincidence? Perhaps, but I'm going to start drinking a cup of this tea every time I get the "flutters" and see if it consistently helps.

For the record, I do drink Yogi Teas regularly, just hadn't ever tried the Kava Stress Relief version before. They have one called Stomach Ease that always kills heartburn or queasy stomach when I get those symptoms.

Re: Nexium vs. Others?

Where do you get these teas? Keep us informed how they do as the days go by...I'm *always* stressed (especially worrying about the flutters/burbles) & wonder if it'd help me?

hugs, fellow flutterer!

Re: Nexium vs. Others?

The yogitea website gives all kinds of information about their teas (I stick mostly to the Healing Formulas) and they provide links to a few websites and a way to search for local sellers. (sorry...I don't think we're allowed post a direct link on this board, otherwise I'd give you the specific URL to look at their tea information!).

Re: Nexium vs. Others?

We have had a problem in CA with Pacific Islanders who like to drink Kava and then go driving and are basically "drunk" so be careful. If you are having anxiety and have money problem why are you taking Paxil which is expensive. Why not ask for an anti=anxiety drug like Xanax which comes in generic and is super cheap. About $11.00 for 30. Paxil is an anti-depressant and used for obsessive compulsive disorders usually not for anxiety unless it is really severe.

Re: Nexium vs. Others?

Canyondweller,

You are right and I should've posted that disclaimer. I only drink it at night, after I've decided to stay in for the evening, so I don't ever experience the impairment aspect of drinking kava tea. Besides, I don't think the Yogi tea has a really high amount of kava in it, just enough to relax you a little. Still, one must use caution when drinking the stuff...only one cup and be VERY careful to not drink it and drive within an hour or two.

In my case, I don't drink the kava tea for anti-anxiety, but for its antispasmodic properties which helps eliminate the "fluttering" that is going on in my stomach/esophagus area due in part to acid reflux. Seems to help so far and I'm keeping it to one cup per day in the evening. If that stops working, then I'll stop drinking it (I don't want to get to reliant on the stuff) and go back to Nexium, which helped a few months ago.

Thanks for the reminder!
