To Murphy

Hey, I hope you are doing well. I had one of your nights last night. Didn't even take any Xanax before bed but I was sitting on the sofa watching T.V. and feel asleep sitting up. Not only that... but I kept waking up every few hours and was too tired to go to my bed. I wouldn't lay on the couch because I wanted to go to my bed but I just kept thinking 'a few more minutes and I'll go'. Finally, I woke up at 7:00 this morning still sitting up. I slept sitting up on the couch all night long. How weird is that? This Suboxone really does knock me out in the evenings to the point where I can't stay awake. It's odd...
Also, had a friend offer me 2 lortab 10s and I said thank you but no, I'm trying to not take those anymore. They were shocked because they knew how much I liked them. I was pretty proud of myself. First time I've had them right in front of me and turned them down flat out. Tomorrow will be 6 weeks for me and I'm still really enjoying my life. Again, I thank God for finding this Sub. I also thank you for helping me get started on it. I was SO scared but it's been the best thing for me. K - can't hold my eyes open so I have to go to bed now... I hope I can make it and don't take a short cut to the couch tonight. :-) My neck was killing me this morning. Please let me know how you are doing!

Re: To Murphy

Hi Banker, I'm glad i caught your post.
I'm wondering if you had the same kind of feeling that I have when I fall asleep sitting up, with the lights on. Last night, I fell asleep watching a movie - and early!
But I think for me, if I didn't take the klonopin, that would not happen.
Once I take the klonopin, and a few suboxone tablets, that's when I usually fall asleep, not knowing it and I wake up either too tired (like you) to go upstairs to bed or I still have a magazine in my hand and the lights are still on.
I think one has to be very very careful as the docs say when taking benzos and suboxone, you know, because if I took more, maybe I'd never wake up?
But like you, I'm still grateful for them.
I've had these pills right in front of my face, and not felt the slightest desire to take one.
I have 200+ darvocets from awhile ago in my closet; not even tempting.
I don't understand it but i'm not questioning it.
I was like you at first Banker, so scared to begin, couldn't make a decision, I was driving the Drs. crazy, up to the last minute.

I do know that I also wake up feeling very very stiff, as if I hardly moved during the night and that feeling of staying in one spot. We're on it now for about the same length of time. I kind of really want to understand this drug a little more, don't you? the weird side affects, deep sleeps, etc. OH and the dreeams. They haven't been pleasant, but I've been dreaming every night.

Take care
Murphy

Re: To Murphy

I hate to keep butting in but you are the only two Iknow here on board that are on the Sub. Do either of you get really bad headaches? I do, usually 3 to 4 a week. They are not any thing that I cant stand but I have make sure I always have to carry a bottle of excedrin with me. The dreams do get better by the way. I have been on Suboxone for 5 months now and quit having the weird dreams a couple months ago. I do still get stiff in the mornings though. All of this is so well worth any minor side affects though. I feel so normal now. Its great to feel good about yourself for a change. I use to be so hard on myself when I was using, hated even looking in the mirror. I wish you both good luck on your road to recovery! You deserve it!

Re: To Murphy

Kimbee - Hey girl. Sounds like you are still doing great. I'm SO happy for you and all of us. I've heard so many people talk about the headaches w/Sub but I've been lucky, I don't get them. I hate to say this but I'm struggling w/constipation... BAD! My doc has given me all kinds of medicine and I just can't seem to get back to normal. Of course, when I was on all of the hydros, It was bad then too. It's beginning to drive me nuts because I have an uncomfortable feeling alot of the time. Any suggestion? This last medicine he gave me is working better. It's the medicine for IBS w/constipation and bloating. You've seen the commercial w/the girl w/writing on her stomach? I can't remember the name right now.. Maybe Zelnorm? Anyway, it has helped some but you are supposed to take it for 4 - 6 weeks. Any other home remedies or herbs that might help me? I've tried increasing fiber, etc but it just isn't working. Anyway, I know it's embarrassing to talk about but hell, it's like you guys are family now :-) I'm so happy we all have found Sub... it's been my lifesaver. I'm actually living my life now and am happier than ever... Keep me posted guys!

Re: To Murphy

Hey all.

Sorry to but in. But, I have the same thing going on. I nod off in the evening too. It is the pits. Over the holidays w/the kids home, we watched movies. (News years Day). I would just nod off. I find myself, now, drinking a cup of coffee when we watch movies. Believe me, I still have heavy eye lids. You all mentioned stiffness. Big time!! I feel like I am 150 years old in the morning. I want to get a oil can like the tin man and oil up to move. It does get better as I get going. I had the headaches for the first few weeks. Not anymore. I have been on the subox since October. Constipation.....my doc said to take over the counter stuff. Actually, it is better now. Who has more fun than us??????? NO One!!!! Shell
