Does anyone know what this may be?

Hi everyone, my name is Christina and I'm 28 years old. It will be two weeks on Friday that I have had these problems. I was just sitting at my desk that Friday afternoon and when I turned my head to the left, the room started spinning. Thats when it all started. That day I thought it was just a migraine because I've had one once before and the symptoms were the same. After the initial dizziness, a headache started along with nausea. I layed down hoping that this would be gone the following day. Nope, the dizziness and headaches were still there. Everyday since then, I have had this off balance feeling. I feel like I am going to fall sometimes and have to grab onto something to keep from doing that. I feel like people think I may be drunk out in public. The headaches have been slightly there every day but they are not so bad. Some days the off balance feeling is barely there and other days it is pretty bad. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said something about a virus or cold doing this to me but I have only had very minor sneezing and nothing else cold wise. He gave me this Medrol Dosepak which is a steriod of some sort and used for severe allergies and asthma. I don't have allergies or asthma. Two days before this all started, I began taking a diet pill called Adipex. I thought it may be that causing all this so I quit taking it for a few days and symptoms have not gone away. The only other thing I can think of is that I have to wear earplugs at night because my husband snores so much and maybe I have damaged something doing that. So I quit wearing those also and sill no change. I'm a little freaked out thinking I have a brain tumor or something. I have no health insurance right now because it costs almost $400 per month through my husbands employer. We just can't afford that right now. Any input would help a lot. Thank you.

Re: Does anyone know what this may be?

Hi! I'm not a doctor or any medical professional and I don't know if what you are experiencing is similar to the following. But I'll tell you what I experienced for you to decide.

I woke up one morning and felt dizzy, especially if I turned my head side to side.
I felt nausea and thought I may lose my balance when walking. Called my chiro and asked if I could be seen. Appeared to be due to my neck out of line. After the chiro adjustments, I was fine. This happened to me twice in a lifetime and the adjustment alleviated the out of balance feelings.

I no longer use a chiropractor because my physician recommends RPTS (physical therapists) to avoid damage or further injury. Spinal manipulations, I've been told by my MD, can cause nerve damage if you have a spine injury (even just a sprain). And there has been documented cases of tears with neck adjustments causing serious complications.

or response to a chemical?

Hoping that the chiropractor alignment is all you need; especially since you said it happened right after turning your head a certain way.

Many of the symptoms you mention, however, could be a reaction to too much of a chemical, such as the commonly used 2-butoxyethanol (ethylene glycol monobutyl ether) My other posts have more information; but the comments you share are also part of what I hear the gulf war syndrome vets sharing. And some of them were also exposed to this chemical. It does more than this, though, so for it to be this chemical, you would have a lot of other symptoms like all-the-time fatigue, endocrine disruption, even liver and kidney concerns are possible.

Next time you get a blood test, ask for the RETIC ratio. (Only costs about $50) It doesn't fully identify hemolytic anemia, but it supports such, and might suggest whether addition blood info is needed. This chemical damages the blood first & the damage is ongoing with too much exposure. It would underlie central nervous system damage, for instance (tired all the time and depressed all the time)

Re: Does anyone know what this may be?

Hi there! I just want to start by saying that I am not a health professional by any means. I know alot about some health issues because my entire family has 3 things wrong w/ them each lol... anyways... I would say it sounds like 1 of 2 things. Number one... you said it happened when you turned your head right? You might have pulled or pinched a nerve!! This is actually somewhat common from what I hear... massage it at night it might help, number two... my mom has these same symptoms everyonce in awhile and she was diagnosed w/ vertigo. [removed]

if this sounds like what is going on then maybe you should ask your doctor. if not then ask him about a pulled or pinched nerve. Again. I would like to say I am NOT a health professional, I just know what my family goes through lol I hope that I have helped you in some way!!!! Let me know if this helps!!

Good Luck
Deena

Re: Does anyone know what this may be?

Quite a few years ago I was driving and started getting these episodes of dizzyness. Kept trying to shake it off but was able to make it home.

At any rate, when I went to the medical facility, they advised that it was an inner ear problem. Something was out of wack and a certain medication would be helpful.

Something like "Lubia>???" anyways..didn't take it as I was pregnant at the time. Eventually, it went away. But until it did, I would lay down and the whole room felt like it was spinning, couldn't gain composure, walking was tricky as nothing was still.

Check out inner ear problems as well
