Do you have a reason to want to take her off it?

If you take her off that, what are you planning on putting her on?

Does anyone ever get the feeling that wrin thinks all us parents and everybody else on this board is stupid?

There are a lot of drugs that can replace advair. My daughter now takes Qvar another inhaled steroid and Foradil another long acting bronchodilator and has had no side-effects.She also takes Accolate which I am a little concerned about.

Didn't I see you post on the CF board? If I did I just wanted to let you know I have two girls with CF.

I don't know what you mean.

Pmichele: When you say steroids, what format do you mean? Are you talking like oral steroids? I imagine your doctor detailed to you how important it is for you to taper off the doses of oral steroids when going on an inhaled steroid (which advair is). And also remember if you don't see results immediately, it does take about 2 weeks for the steroid in advair to start to work fully.

But it is one of the better drugs on the market, and honestly, switching her around from one drug to another drug to another drug in a short span of time is probably going to cause more harm than good... if even just because of the adrenal suppression.

rugratsmomma: I can't figure out why Symbicort isn't available in the states -- Foradil is the same drug as the long-acting bronchodilator in Symbicort, which is what I'm taking.
