My surgeon has given me some information (and a prescription) but has made no predictions and cost is an issue. I am 47, and had RRP five weeks ago with nerves spared one side only. Incidentally I was surprised a few days ago to experience my first (dry) orgasm post surgery but without erection. (Enjoyable for me; of little use to my partner!) It also produced some short-lived pain in the area of the (absent) prostate. I'd welcome commentary from anyone with experience or an opinion on this.

rfj121,
Having an RP at such an early age is in your favor because younger men usually recover faster as you already know. With 1 nerve spared it may take you longer for erections to recover. I purchased 2 Viagra tablets but have not had to use them but I will try them. I had both nerves spared (7/2002,age 46) and erections have returned but are shorter. It seems the more I work my "muscle" the better things are getting. When purchasing Viagra get the 100mg strength. These can be broken in half to save money, but you may need the higher strength to start with. Also
Levitra & Cialis are now available. If you have had any hormone therapy things can take longer too. I still get pain in the area where my prostate was after orgasm, occasionally. I think this may be due to action on the urethra (where it is reconnected) when the penis is stimulated(i.e. pushing & pulling).Positive4U
