GERD is when you reflux acid from your stomach into your espohogus. It also causes some breathing problems. You may check this out. It seems as though your asthma went from intermitten to chronic...never fun I'm sorry.

Where I live, after having been seen in the hospital for asthma, they automatically put you on a dose of prednisone.

The bloating and the rash are probably from the prednisone. It could take a few weeks for the rash to go away and the bloating and weight gain all depend on your body personally; I've known people to drop the steroid-weight very quickly, and some people who have the damnedest time getting it off.

Good luck!

Thanks for your help. I've now switched from Singulair to Theodur. Even though my rash is getting better I don't know if that is from stopping Singular, going off Prednisone or taking an antihistamine! The only problem is my asthma has worsened!! And the theodur is awful (shakes, nausea)!! I haven't had these problems in years!!! Do you think it's worth asking the dr. to retry the Singulair if that makes my asthma better, on the assumption that it may not have been the cause of the rash?? I'm in a pickle!
