Re: Info on Esi please

All of you who are against ESI do you know which corticosteroid was injected? The Brand name?
I have a list of reported side effects from the Freedom of Information Act and there are 16 pages for Kenalog. Awaiting a detailed list of the side effects that is supposed to show sex, age, way administered everything but the persons name. Have you all reported these side effects to the company or the Reporting System? I am very against them. I wish I had done the research before my husband had these injections, instead of after our catastrophe.
Also ask to see a package insert with all of the side effects. My husband was only told that the possible complications including but not limited to damage to surrounding tissue, intravascular injection, seizures, cardiovascular collapse, death paralysis, failure to improve the condition, worsening of the condition and other complications in the release form that he signed.

Re: Info on Esi please

Well just thought I would let everyone know I had to have the injections( workmans Comp. issue). It wasnt to bad till I came too in the middle of the procedure in severe pain. My left leg is hurting worse now than before pocedure. I can now say no to the next one. Well guess I have vented enough for now. Thanks for listening.

Since you just had one, and yes they hurt like heQQ when they do them, you should be okay, tissue damage wise, but I would refuse anymore and have them put it in your chart.

OWCP uses the injections to try to get the pain stopped as soon as possible and to get you back to worK. If they can get the pain stopped then they can close out your case sooner. I think that it is a bunch of bull. I had my husband bypass the cortizone shots and do the EMG. They suggested surgery but we are turning it down and not settling for it.

There are alternatives to the shots and surgery.

I wish I never had the epidural shots. They are brutal. I felt worse after those than before I went in. Insist on oral steroids and do major homework on those. They too can lead to other problems but are worth a try. Good luck.

Re: Info on Esi please

Well I havent seen any improvement today. My left leg and hip hurt more now than when they did the esi yesterday. Go back to NS next Friday. Maybe he can try something diffrent this time. I dont understand why they went in so far away from where they did my surgery to do the esi. The more i read about back problems it seems if u let them do surgery u end up with more problems than u started with. The first surgery worked good could go back to work and worked for 3 years with only a few problems. Then it went out agian. Sorry about such a long post. Just needed to vent.
