Please help, need some advice!!!!!

Hello to everyone! First off, I want to apoligize for the length of this messege, but I feel I must get everything out to receive any advise. I'm a 32 year old male, 6'1" 220lbs. I never had a health problem in my life except for the common cold and flus. Except for the past month, I only ate one meal a day (dinner) for the past 10 years. Around four months ago I started experiencing chest pains, phlegm, and a cough. I figured it was cold season so I started taking OTC cold medicines and allergy pills off and on until the last week of Feb. when I was taking both for 10 days straight. One night I threw up what seemed to be bile or stomach acid in my sleep. I stayed up for a few hours to see if I was going to throw up again but never did. I went back to sleep and 45 min. later did the same thing again. Around noon the next day I was laying on the couch when my heart started racing, went to the ER and was told my HR was 170 bpm. I was given an IV, HR went down but out of rhythm, stayed overnight and was back in sinus the next morning. Chest x-rays, blood tests, ekg, sonograms all came back fine. ER cardiologist put me on Amiodarone and coumadin. Two weeks later went to a different cardiologist, he took me off both medicines. Went to internist said I may have GERD. Started me on Protonix and scheduled an endoscopy (tommorow). Took protonix but still had bad chest pains and flutters. I found this website and tried the Cal/Mag method three days ago. I feel better, chest pains are gone, some fluttering still at least once a day. My toes on my right foot are starting to tingle also. I am a nervous wreck over all of this and don't know what to do. This is my first time being seriously ill and I don't know what steps to take to get better. To make things worse I have three kids (12, 8, & 3) that are scared about my health also. So really any advice or help would really be appreciated, not only from me but from my kids too! Thank you so much for your time!!!!!!!

I wish I had some sage advice for you, but I will be adding you to my prayer list tonight. GERD (or NERD if your endoscopy comes back normal, without erosions/ulcerations, etc.) can do weird things to the heart & esophagus, throat, etc. Hang in & have faith...

Could be the start of gerd. When im in a really bad attack and the meds dont work my blood pressure can go up from 112/75 to 144/80.It will push your pulse rate up too ,i know cause i have one of those watches that monitor your heart rate. The symptons you mentioned sound just like gerd symptoms.Hope this helps.Take care.

Re: Please help, need some advice!!!!!

I feel your pain. I have a Reflux problem. I am a 28 year old male 6'1" 160lbs. I have never had any health problems until recently. In about Nov. 2003 I was having difficulty swallowing but it was not bad. One month later I had a real bad reflux episode and got an ulcer in my esophagus. This was at the end of Dec. 2003. It has still not healed. I had a little bit of heartburn here and there in the past but all this sort of came suddenly. Now I have anxiety attacks in the middle of the night. I will wake up and storm out of my room in the middle of the night. It feels like I am having a heart attack or something. My doctor gave me Xanax. It helps alot. I have a 3 year old. My family is sort of worried about my situation. Hope you get better.
