Re: Ace inhibitor and cough

Here is a website that gives the RDA for all categories. According to my doc, ace inhibitors “may” reduce the iron in your body, I myself took the leap and decided if the study revealed massive dosages of iron showed improvement, perhaps a small amount would. This analysis led me to try One-A-Day for women, I figured a trusted name like one day, would be safe.

For you info, here is the site that shows the RDAs:

But as you will see below according to this info even men require a little, see below:

All Children ·
0-6 months 6 mg/day ·
6-12 months 10 mg/day ·
1-10 years 10 mg/day

Men · 11-14 years 12 mg/day ·
19 years and over 10 mg/day

Women · 11-50 years 15 mg/day ·
50+ years 10 mg/day ·

Pregnant women 30 mg/day ·

Lactating women 15 mg/day

Sorry Sandra, but over the weekend I had a really bad reaction to zestril and now I am totally of ace inhibitors. I got hives and welts all over my body, itching including my eyes, and my dr took me off ace inhibitors immediately. I now only take verapamil and hctz for bp. However, I spoke with my local pharmacist and he said perhaps taking the ace inhibitor first and then wait 15 minutes to take the other meds. Good luck.

Re: Ace inhibitor and cough

Frank,

LOLOL, Codeine is the SINGLE STRONGEST cough inhibitor on the medical arsenal (well maybe morphine is little stronger?). I tend toward winter bronchitis and would NEVER be without a bottle of some codeine med. It makes DMHC seem liike candy syrup in comparison.
