Pain meds and NSAIDS causing tooth decay, It's true

I am a group facillitator for a chronic pain support group. I get a newsletter now and then from them. I was stunned when i read in the latest publishing that NSAIDS and pain pills can cause tooth decay. It comes from not having enough saliva. The saliva does something to protect the tooth enamel. So if you have a severely dry mouth like I do at night then you are at risk for tooth decay. It makes sense to me now, But previously i had been blaming my tooth decay on previous street drug use. But low and behold pain meds NSAIDS and yes some anti-depressents and actually any drug that causes dry mouth can and will cause tooth decay. Only problem is this state won't pay to have youre teeth fixed hell they won't even give you dentures just yank them out then next thing you know youre drinking soup through a straw. Not that I'm at that point yet. But they are getting bad. Anyone else on these meds having bad tooth decay????
