What can I say. This was taken in Sept. and finally finished this past week. SOOOOOO much has changed in that short pd of time due to his thepary, half of it didn't apply anymore.
He was tested for gross and fine motor skills, speech and language, social skills and some basic skills... ABC, shapes, # and things like that.
He scored fine on the gross motor skill with the exception he still doesn't walk up the stairs with alternating feet. He *usually* puts both feet on the step.. also going down he does this too. ... I think it may have something to do with my sons strength. He is very skinny and doesn't have much muscle tone. He is now eating like a horse, but how much weight can you gain by eating rice cakes with peanut butter? For the Fine motor skills, they were concerned with him not using sissors or coloroing in the lines.. He would NOT do this 2 mos ago, but now, HE IS SOOOOOO GOOD AT IT!!! He can cut all kids of stuff right on the lines an colors really good in the lines. Sooooooo even before this, he didn't quilify, now for sure not.
His receptive and expressive speech is not delayed and does not meet requirement of 25 % delay, but his Pramatic speech is off, but not enough to meet delay.... (OK.. to me, this is the MAIN and really the ONLY way you can tell that there is anything wrong with my son) so he doesn't quilify for that either.
The learning part of it, numbers, letters, shapes, colors, things like that, he scored above avarage in this area. YEAH

I knew that he would!!! Soo as you can guess he doesn't quilify for this either.
Lastly, his social interaction... they scored him at a level of 21-22 MOS!!! Yes months!!! OMG that is soooo offf. He is delayed in this area, but COME ON!!! THis is less than my 2 yr old. NO WAY!

I feel that this is off. He would rather play with younger or older children/adults, but he isn't that bad. So he doesn't really care to play with kids and likes to "float" from activitiy or person, is that really that bad? Wont this just come as he gets older?
SOOOO here is the thing... I can either take him out of his preschool with he is the only developmentally challanged child (although I do hear the are getting another HFA there, but differnt times and days, ** on a second note, should we put these 2 together? You know strengh in numbers? Would that help them socially or would it inhibit them?) or put him in a "specialize preschool" where most of the children have some form of delay, and probably not be able to properly socialize? HUMMM that is a tough one....

LETS LEAVE HIM WHERE HE IS, MAYBE INCREASE A DAY, MAKING 3? Don't you think that would be the best thing? Keeping him with the most typical kids? That way he can learn to interact more?
This is good news for the most part, but it is like they are saying that my child isn't Autistic enough to get services..... I just don't want him to fall betweent he cracks!
