Flagyl...

For those on Flagyl, how well do you tolerate it? I will miss my nightly glass of wine. I must say, taking Septra and Levaquin and adding Flagyl, kind of frightens me.

Re: Flagyl...

Flagyl makes me a little weepy and moody. Other than that it is okay for me. Do a search of side effects so you know what could potentially happen, that way you know what is from the flagyl and what is from other things.

I miss my wine too. I haven't had any alcohol at all since I got diagnosed nine months ago.

Hope it goes well for you.

Re: Flagyl...

Greetings
I have been on IV Rocephin for eight weeks now. Additionally, I took 600mg Zith fir seven weeks but switched to Flagyl on week seven and finish tonight. I tolerated it alright but it can cause problems with loose stools when aggressive antibiotic therapy is in progress. As the antibiotics kill the bad bacteria, it kills the good bacteria in the GI that is needed for digestion. Eating yogourt and taking enzymes may help avoid or lessen these complications.

Carl- You take good acidophilis don't you? If not, you really should. Are you feeling well? Hope so.

I am taking took a capsule that contains a number of enzymes to include acidophilis. I'd like to think that they are good because they cost over $40.00 for 60 capsules.

I am feeling better. I have made a lot of small gains that I am grateful for at this point. I have a long road for recovery but it beats the alternative of MS. I was slowly going down hill with no hope of recovery what so ever. I took injections every over day and watched my diet - exercise was out and I kept getting worse. My gait was so poor that co-workers thought that I was drunk or really sick.

After two months of therapy, my gait has significantly improved, cognition is much better, leg strength, endurance, and energy has increased as well. Initially, I was afraid that the improvement was psychological but it's been two months now and now I'm sure that it wasn't MS and that I am truely on the road to recovery.l
