My name is Steve, a 63 yo male with what the Neuro DX'd as "mild neuropathy" earlier this year. I'm non diabetic. I also have burning mouth syndrome, a form of neuropathy, the first indication that something was amiss. The pain is mostly in the right side of my face but will sometimes go elsewhere. I've had burning in the deltoids, neck and face. Sometimes it's the hips or shoulders. I also have a relatively small brain cyst that causes pain/burning in the facial area. I've been through many of the standard psychotropic treatments for pain, and now rely on Ibuprofin and Lortab. I also take Alpha Lipoic Acid which seems to help some, but not a great deal.
I haven't pushed for any more tests since there isn't anything to be gained from them, it's mostly treat the symptoms. What I'm dealing with is minor to what most of you are dealing with so I won't have much to post in the way of help. I do read the other posts though and may pop in once and awhile.
