Schizophrenia/stress

i stay hours after hours working with highly concentrated level behind my computers , i work more than my capacity , i guess i am workhollic , so sometimes when i am very tired and stressed when i come to bed and closed my eyes i hear sounds , dialogues ,songs i can't control them but i am aware of them , when i open my eyes theire is nothing or they decreased and i even could stop them , they don't exist when i am awake , just only when i am trying to sleep .
when i am tired , confused not thinking clearly and i stay working that increase the pourcentage that they will be a real time radio station in my head when i am trying to sleep while my eyes are closed .
i don't know what it is , i guess it is lack of sleep , over working , i am also a stressful man so my minds is always thinking , or maybe it is entertaining itself trying to relax ,
i donna know what it is , i could join the club here , maybe , donna know , u r the expert here .
any comments

Re: Schizophrenia/stress

Have you been diagnosed with schizophrenia? Almost all mental illnesses are worsened during times of stress, and schizophrenia is included. I have OCD, not schizophrenia, and I, too, have "racing thoughts" that consist of random movie/TV quotes and songs. I'm constantly getting these stuck in my head and have to play them through.

Re: Schizophrenia/stress

hello!

I am actually bipolar. I was diagnosed 2 years ago. But, I do remember 3 years ago when I was in a hotel room, that even the remotest noises would get into my head and I would have to figure out where they came from and find a way to get rid of them. Ex: the sound of the ceiling fan was magnified in my head as well as the water fountain from an open window. I turned off and closed everything. At the time, I do remember thinking I was schizophrenic.

Since my diagnosis, I have had that same problem. Its as if the air conditioning turns into a song. Any kind of white noise becomes something else. I also had a lot of anxiety. When I started taking the anxiety pills, the problem seemed to go away. Though, I still am a little bit sensitive of any noise that I can't identify. I think its only in my head.

I do think alot and it keeps me awake. I am still trying to figure out how to control that without meds. I am about to try White Chestnut.

You may want to check into Bipolar because a lot of workaholics tend to have that. Do you crash for days or weeks, not wanting to get out of bed?

Also, I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy. The time between going to sleep and then falling asleep I think you are semi-consious and have vivid hallucinations.

Ok, just some food for thought. Hope this helps!

Re: Schizophrenia/stress

thanks guys for the replies , that helped a lot .
well i don't crash for days , i sleep maximum 6 hour and i rise to work directly ,
just i want to add that i rarely hear voice it not a occasional think , and that when for example i had a tuff day and didn't slept well like 3 or 4 hour in 2 days , it could be linked to that i guess .
the question : could the lack of sleep and stress make temperately hallucinations when i am semi consious as i am trying to sleep ?(that don't happen when i am awake)
