turning alarm off in my sleep

I made a post earlier about how I have trouble falling asleep before early morning, well I have class at 8am Monday-Friday, as luck would have it. I had been setting my alarm and keeping it by my bedside table. Then I'd wake up around you know, NOON, never realizing anything and I assumed I must have turned off my alarm in my sleep. I started putting my alarm across the room on top of my desk so I would actually have to stand up on a chair to turn it off. Well the last few days I woke up again at noon with my phone moved to my desk! This means I actually got up, stood up on a chair and turned off my alarm and gotten back into bed without waking up once! I know it's kinda funny but the truth is my teacher is starting to/already hates me cause I never go to class, I know she just thinks I'm lazy but how can I control the fact that I even sleep-walk to turn off my alarm? I can't rely on anyone else to wake me up either, that wouldn't be fair. Help!

Re: turning alarm off in my sleep

DM-

It may be time to see a neurologist dealing with sleep disorders if you can shut off your alarm like this. The only other thing is to find some wake up service that calls people, or have one of your parents call you.

Waaaay back in college, during finals, I always got up, but I made sure that I had my parents call me anyway, just in case.

Re: turning alarm off in my sleep

I know exactly what your talking about. I have similar problems and I have an unhealthy but good way to deal with this: Just dont go to sleep. I have 8 oclock classes twice a week and I never go to bed on those days. Its difficult but your body eventually gets used to it. If you need to go to class and cant wake up then not going to bed is pretty much your only option.

Re: turning alarm off in my sleep

Perhaps you could find some sort of box or place you could put it which you could put a padlock on? Operating a padlock in your sleep is a little harder than just walking....
