I was hoping someone on this board could give me some insight as to what's going on. For over a week now, I've been experiencing vaginal bleeding and it's about a week to a week and a half from my period. I have never had spotting or anything of this sort before. Last Thursday, I went in for surgery on my shoulder. After it was over, the nurses said I had to urinate before I could go home. I had a little trouble doing this due to the anesthesia. When I tried to go, I noticed a little blood after wiping. This gets more embarrassing. I thought maybe it had something to do with my bladder being so full since I was unable to urinate all day. Finally I was able to go and I was sent home. However, the bleeding has not stopped. The first time at the hospital it resembled more of a red color and throughout the week it was sometimes more brown and had a menstrual consistency to it. It has never been much, but still the problem is continuing. I would also notice more bleeding after a bowel movement. Yesterday I was bleeding more than I have this week. I thought it was finally stopping, but after yesterday, I am not sure. I don't know what's going on with my body. I read about another woman's symptoms and I believe she may have had a colon tear which was causing her bleeding. I'm not sure of this though. Also, about a month ago I was treated for a possible stomach ulcer. I was having stomach pain for about a week so I finally went to the doctor. I was running a fever, my white count was slightly elevated, and I had a positive fecal occult blood test. I was told to go to a specialist to confirm that it was an ulcer, but I never ended up going... Instead I took some medication she gave me. Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on or has had a similar experience? Anything would help. I'm hoping this will stop soon and it'll be taken care of. Thank you for the help!
