Re: HAVING A Biventricular ICD , WHAT SHOULD I AVOID????

Good evening, I have had a biventricular ICD for quite a while now. I would hope your drs give you loads of info on what to avoid but for now, NO MRIs ever again and no wanding at the airport. I use a microwave, however I don't stand right next to it. I have a magnetic strip on my work badge so I wear that on my pocket. It should be at least 6 inches from the ICD, but I am rather small and it would be too close to the ICD if I wore it on my lapel. A cell phone should be used only on the ear opposite the ICD. I don't have any problems with electricty and wouldn't expect you to have any with shaving. You didn't ask but the procedure itself is not a problem. It took my EP doc about 4 hours to do mine and I went home the next morning. I do wish you well.
