scotsman and all help!

Hey guys

So I have and noticed since i got this stuff 14 months ago that occasionally, and especially if i'm sick my ears crack/crunch when I swallow, and they seem really sensitive to noise. What's this caused by? And does it have anything to do with VN or damage caused by that? Or malfunctioning Escucian (however u spell it) tubes which are causing my symptoms to linger. It's almost like I have to pop my ears.

Thanks, and any help would be great.
Scott

Re: scotsman and all help!

Hi Scott

I also have crackling stuff going on in my ears. I can also be VERY noise sensitive which brings on my symptoms, i.e. feeling off balance, which is really annoying. I have had this stuff for about 20 months and still have some bad days but overall I am ok. This eustacian tube thing has been hanging about with me for about 6 months now and I feel a need to keep trying to pop them but I am not convinced that I can actually pop my ears as they don't feel like they pop (like they do when you are ascending).

Re: scotsman and all help!

Well, I've had that stuff even prior to the VN stuff, because I'm a chronic allergies person, and back then before I've had any vestibular symptoms my ENT told me that it was caused by a cloughing or bad draining of the ear, due to inflamation both of the nose and the eustachian tube, wich caused that extra, undesired liquid stayed in there, causing this cracking noise.

I've also have had that extra sound sensitivity, both before and after my vestibular injury, but I've no explanation on that.

Re: scotsman and all help!

Scott, I have had it all the time since my problems with the inner ear started.
No one bothered to explain me why though.

Hope you feel better.
