Hey Board Buddies, i'm still kicking and it's all over wheww! This is my experience! I got admitted at 9:30 am and got preped and was scheduled for 11:30. I got in finally at 2::00, my surgeon had a prior surgery that i guess had a few complications. That was scary lol. I got in and i was in recovery waking at about 5:00. Got into a room at about 7:00pm. So surgery took about 2 hours just like he said. He said my thyroid wasn't that enlarged, but my nodules were quite inflammed, so now i wait for the results. Recovery has gone very well, i have been amazed! Very little sore throught but never had much of a problem with the tubes in the throught and no drainage tubes ithier. It was pretty sore and even with the Morphine i could still feel alot but that is too be expected. Anyway all was healing great my insicion looks great i think! I got to go home the next day about noon after they checked my calcium and main i think the worst was getting used to bieng back home in my home and sleep schedule. I had some trouble with my calcium as i could feel tingling in my hands but took tums all day and that subsided the next day. Also the worst part with being uncomfortable i think was not being able to turn my head much at all and the stiffness in the back of my neck. I was up alot today , i did some dishes and layed around the rest of the day till i checked my email. It was also hard because my husband couldn't be there because the weather made schools closed and he had to watch the kiddos and my sis in law was there but was glad my dad showed before i went in and stayed till it was over. Man, it sure wans't as scary as i thought it was gonna be! I made it! So to others getting ready or is in the process try not to be too worried or anxious i know it's better said than done but as long as you have a good surgeon you will be fine, and as i went in i just said to myself i have all my wonderful board buddies here holding my hand! Thank to all for your support! If anyone has question that they want to ask, ask away i might have forgot something!
Love, Monkey
