my face on my wedding day

Hi everyone

I am getting married in 2 weeks and I want to do my own make up. I wear make up everyday but want it to look a bit different or special. I am also 2 months pregnant and have an eruption of big spots I try to keep my face clean but know I could do more to make it look better.

Could you give me some beauty tips for the day or a regime for clearing up my face? Thank you

For the makeup ideas, I would suggest going to a bookstore and looking at wedding books and magazines. I saw one book I definitely will be buying.. the makeup was gorgeous. They suggest making your eyes the feature you make stand out a bit more and keeping a more natural lip. You want a color on them, but nothing bright or really shiny. With the eyes you don't want anything too glittery/shimmery that will come out with a glare in photos.

As for the skincare, what products are you using now? I use Clean & Clear dual action moisturizer and it's great to prevent pimples since it has salicylic acid. I use something more moisturizing on any dry areas.

2 cover up spots and have something to last all day and be good for your skin - use Bare Minerals - awesome!!!!

I agree with the bare minerals make up. I am doing my sisters make up in April for her wedding. I did read somewhere not to wear any pink as it does not look good in photos.

I am planning on using bare escentuals foundation, bronzer and finishing powder as a base. Then a mixture of brown eye shadows, a light beige for whole eye, then a pale brown over most of crease and then a dark in outer corners and brown eyeliner. A gloss most likely for the lips.

As for clearing up skin, I use proactive solution but would not recommend trying a whole new regime 2 weeks before your wedding, some make your skin worse before better. Maybe get a spot treatment containing benzyl peroxide (only use a small amount).

I don't claim to know everything, but I did work for a photographer for 6 years and we would always tell brides that you want to keep the colors natural and neutral. I agree with tUrRrRa, stay away from glittery eye shadow and blush. The key you will want to follow, however, is do the makeup more defined than you normally would but don't put that additional color in your foundation. Keep that what you normally wear. If you don't have enough color, you'll look washed out and pale. I would practice a look you think you'll like and then take a few digital pics of yourself. You'll be able to see how it looks. A new mascara works best. ( No clumps, etc.) If you color in your lips with the lip pencil it will help if your color starts to fade. (Though you probably already know that if you wear makeup daily).
