Re: night bp

Hi Sharon,

I would say b/p should be lower at night if you are sleeping. During my sleep study, my pulse/heart rate was low except for a few spikes that are considered normal I'm told. After eating one's b/p should be lowerer because a lot of blood is diverted to the stomach for digestion. The volume of blood in the main vessels is one of the factors that determines blood pressure. Re: night bp

Sounds like stress to me especially since it is night when our worries come to the surface before going to bed. I thought I had my stress under control about my upcoming "root canal" (had a very bad experience with a root canal). It was scheduled for last Thursday (Endodontist said I didn't need it even though 2 other dentists disageed). My systolic had been in the 170's for a week before while my diastolic was only in the 50-60's. After I saw the 3rd dentist my b/p went right back down. So sometimes as much as we try, we can't deny our real feelings. I guess that is how lie detector tests work because most people can't prevent their b/p from going up.
My meds kept my pulse from going up though. Fam
