scared, jumping eyes, last about 25 secs.

Hi,

I really need help. I am trying not to be scared. Yesterday I got up and ready to go out. About an hour later before I left the house I started to feel dizzy like the room was spinning. Suddenly my vison went funny. My eyes seems to be going back and forth quickly and I could not see properly. At the same time I felt some nausea. This last for about 25 seconds. I then timed the next attack. About 3 minutes later the same thing happened, again lasted for about 25 to 30 seconds. This went on for 2 hours. I was so scared. I tried to lie down and rest. It finally went away and everything went back to normal.

This has happened to me twice before in the past year or so but the last 2 times it only lasted for a couple of minutes.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Do you have any ideas what it could be? I have an appointment with an eye specialist but it takes about 4 months to get in to see him.

I have tried to search on web but couldn't come up with anything. Thanks for your help.

Lynn

Re: scared, jumping eyes, last about 25 secs.

Hi Lynn
Sorry to hear about the scary episodes of dizziness. It sort of sounds like an inner ear problem more than an eye problem. Maybe some form of vertigo. My ex had that about two years ago and he had sizziness with the eyes going back & forth really fast too. It's annoying, but there are some medicines that can help. His went away in time.
I think there is a board here for inner ear problems...maybe someone there can help.
