Thumbs up Labs Lookin' Good

I just got my labs back. All my blood work fell within range (phosphate, CBC, TSH, etc.) Does this mean I'm healthy and don't have an eating disorder? Anybody ever see their lab results?

Hey! I'm glad your labs came back nice and healthy! Although I don't believe that the results are any indication or whether or not you have an eating disorder (just of whether the ED has done any real, measurable damage to your body). An eating disorder is a mindset and a set of behaviours, not a lab test. What form does your ED take?

Labs dont dictate if you have an ED or not. Just the amount of damage as the above poster said. My labs at my lowest weight were all normal and i was hospitalized for malnutritian. I even had a normal period back then!

Re: Labs Lookin' Good

Just because your labs are fine doesn't mean you don't have an eating disorder or haven't done damage to your body. Near my worst time and lowest weight, my labs were normal although certain of the electrolytes (potassium in particular were borderline), and I was extremely thin & sick and felt terrible all the time. The EKG was also in the normal range though I did have slight brachycardia (it had to be sent off to a cardiologist to analyze). Don't think just because the labs are fine one day that you don't have an ED and that you are perfectly OK.

Wow - thanks. They did note sinus brachycardia, 59 BPM on my EKG. I feel OK, though. Thanks for sharing your info. Is physical damage from an ED reversable? PS: I'm a restrictor.
