Question 14 month old just like the drink milk all the time...

The 14 month old is iffy with food. Sometimes she will eat breakfast and the next day it will be one bite and the one after that it will be nothing. Because of this she doesn't eat regular breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She does drink a lot of organic whole milk and this is after she doesn't eat anything. Now, I think I can answer my own question......don't give her so much milk and she will start to eat. It just doesn't seem that simple when it comes down to it though. Anyone else struggle with this? I guess I don't sweat it too much, she does eat, just not like other babies I see, not with a schedule.

Re: 14 month old just like the drink milk all the time...

Yes, my 15 month old (Alexa too!) is very much like this. She won't eat anything but fresh fruit, pasta, cheese and pizza. She refuses to drink cows milk but nurses often during the day and night. She had her 15 month appt. yesterday and the nurse told me the same, withold the drink and she will eat more. But like you said, easier said than done. She will just cry and throw the food until she gets what she wants. Wish I had some advice for you, just wanted to let you know you are not alone! Some advice I read though, is to put a variety of things in an ice cube tray and let her pick what she wants. I haven't tried it yet.

Re: 14 month old just like the drink milk all the time...

I agree with the above poster who's Dr. said to withhold the drink and she will eat more. My DD is 16 months and at 12 months she would NOT eat ANYTHING (besides her gerber goodies, crackers, etc.) and she drank a ton of milk to try and make up for this and maybe fill her tummy.

I listened to my Dr, who told me to withhold the milk and it worked! Now I put it alongside her meal, and she eats her food just great and only takes a drink when she's thirsty, sets it down and continues eating just like a grown up!
