sex injury, scared -help!
almost a week ago my boyfriend and i were having sex and he slipped out on accident and then went in, but he hit too far down and ripped me pretty bad. its about a 1/2 inch lasceration, almost to where my anus is, and i was able to pull it open and see that its slightly deep. its not excrutiating, surprisingly enough, but im concerned that the profuse bleeding is a problem. when it first happened i was gushing blood. i took a shower and it slowed down. about 4 days later we were having sex again, nothing rough at all, and he sat up and said, youre bleeding again, bad. it seems like it starts to heal itself and then if theres any activity down there, it breaks open again. i did an internet search for "ripped vagina" and got some other message board about how someone had to get stitches. I really dont want stitches, 1. because its going to hurt horribly 2. im moving away in 5 days for a new job and i cant be restricted by that sort of thing, if its painful and 3. i dont have health insurance so i would have to pay the gyno out of pocket, which i really dont have the money for. I'm trying to use my own logic on the situation and assume that since we're not doing anything unnatural, and i know that i am small down there, and my boyfriend is rather big and slipped that it was bound to happen and the best thing to do is to keep it clean and untouched. Also, I figured since a baby has to fit out one day, isnt the vagina designed to stretch for sex and delivery? Why would it be necessary to get it stitched unless it was continuously gushing blood. Well as you can probably tell, I'm freaking out. Any advice would be awesome.

Yes, babies do come out of there, but sometimes it rips and it has to be stitched. We can't tell you if it's bad enough to require stitches.
If you decide you aren't going to get medical help, at least don't engage in any sexual activity down there at all until it is fully healed. Keep it clean, dry, etc.

you have got to be kidding. you'd better get to the doc fast. that can't be good having a tear and bleeding. who knows what other issues you might have that could lead to long term issues, i.e. infection. get to a doctor and cough up the dollars for piece of mind.

Re: sex injury, scared -help!
I'm with Thisby on this one.
NO SEX. NONE. NOT EVEN. NO IF'S.
watch for infection. fever, any sort of increasing soreness, any unusual discharge from the injury, etc.
at the first sign of infection, get out the checkbook and head to the doc.
visiting the doc now would be preferred but if you insist on not going, at least allow yourself to heal before engaging in any sex.

Re: sex injury, scared -help!
i hear why you dont want to go to the doctor, but that's for your own good. if anything, if something worse becomes of it, you might have to be hospitalized. and imagine how much that will cost you? i've had 2 babies come out of there, and both times i've ripped, and both times i've had to have stitches. so ya...if you don't heal yourself the right way, something worse will become of it and u'll wish you would've gone to the doctor soon. goodluck.
