I just finished writing Dads obituary~

My father died yesterday morning after his brief battle with lung cancer. He went peacefully. I missed him by a few minutes and was devastated to have been mere minutes from saying 'Goodbye'.

I wanted to say thanks to all the fine folks on this board. Although my visits were brief, you helped me immensely in the last few days. I will stop by on occasion to wish a prayer to those suffering.

I did want to share that my dad said when he dies God will be waiting with a tall glass of ice water (as he couldn't swallow well and was always thirsty). Well last night we had our first monsoon storm (of the season) and got a nice drink of water. Thanks Dad!!

Bless you all,
Sara

I'm sorry for your loss and glad your dad got the nice big drink he'd been waiting for. Lots of prayers and comfort to you and your family.

Thanks Ayre. I just finished re-reading your posts. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's never easy to lose a loved one.

It sounds like you have strong family support. Lean on one another, when the need arises. And I agree with the poster that said your dad will not physically be able to walk you down the aisle, but he'll be there in spirit.

God Bless

Sara, You have my heartfelt sympathies for the loss of your dad. God with a glass of water and the first monsoon storm is pretty interesting. Guess he knew that water would be there as people do have control over their death. You take care of yourself as the grief of a parent's death can be quite hard. I will pray that you find comfort from those around you.JanMarie

Sara, My thoughts and prayers are with you-when you need some help-we're here for you-grieving a parent's death is hard-I lost both my parents-it's hard-and will help in any way I can. Peace, Cherie
