I live in a small town in Lee County and tried the hospital, the health department, and most of the clinics and doctors. I did find a drug store that would actually give the shots, but my insurance doesn't cover it unless it actually provided and administered by a health care professional.

I live in Michigan and I got my shingles vaccine at the health department for only $10.00. It will cost you hundreds if you got to your doctor and most insurance does not pay for it. One thing for sure, you do not want to get shingles.

My husband has had a case of shingles since April. It is getting better, but it was a painful experience for him. Getting the vaccine doesn't guarantee that you won't get get shingles, although your chance of getting them is much less and if you did happen to get them it would not be so severe.
