I had a tetnus shot on Monday and by Wednesday evening I noticed a lump on my left collar bone. It moves around and is sore when I touch it. Is this just from my shot. How long before it goes away if it is.
Sometimes people do experience soreness and some even have a lump at the site of an injection. It can occur with a tetanus shot or other vaccination as well. The lump and soreness would be where you got the shot. Both should go away in a few days. It sounds like the tetanus (Tdap) shot was administered high on your upper left arm if thats where the pain and lump are.
It is not near the injection site it is on my collar bone on the same side (left side) It is just left of my neck on my collar bone. Can this still be part of the side effects from the tetnus shot?
It could possibly be a swollen lymph node from the vaccine, I suppose. Or it could be unrelated. Just keep an eye on it. If it is a swollen lymph node, though, poking at it will make it hard for the swelling to go down, so try not to touch it.
