should I go to Dental School

Question to any dentist: I have been very interested in the dental and the medical field. I made a choice 20 years ago to go to college for Engineering instead. Engineering was choice due to I had became a father very young age and I had to get a degree quick. Now I look back and I regret it that I did not follow my dream. I am now 43 years old and I do not know if I should go for it. It will take me about Eight years and I will be 51 or 52 year old. From what I see Dentists retire early in life in 40s or 50s do you guys think I should go for it. You know it is not easy work to do and I am not in my 20s or 30s and like I said I will be about 52 when I graduate from Dental school. Please advise. Thanks

P.s: I know there will be words of encouragements but let’s be realistic please.
