Question For appearance of aging, which do you trust? Mirrors or photos?

I've noticed something strange. Whenever I see myself in a photo I think I look old. When I'm home and see myself in any of three mirrors, I think I look just fine and not old at all. What's going on? Which should I believe?

Has anyone else noticed a difference between their mirror image and their photo image?

Oh, I think I look old in the mirror, and fatter in a photo...so I avoid both!
I think a photo is more likely to be harsher, due to lighting, or flash, or just looking "wrong" at the moment the lens opens. Then again, there are people who photograph well, and others that don't.

I think the best judge of aging is how you feel, because the better you feel, the better you look!

John, I feel exactly like you. That's why I don't like anybody taking pictures of me.

Re: For appearance of aging, which do you trust? Mirrors or photos?

I always think I look better in the mirror than a photo.
It's easy to look in the mirror and pose or just look a certain way at yourself until you are happy. A photo catches you in an instant and you don't get a chance to pose just right and a lot of the times it catches you at a moment you don't like.
One thing I've noticed though, most people tend to think that they look bad in a picture, but the next person will think they look really nice.
I think it's just because we know what we are thinking and feeling at the moment and it's all just a little different to our own self. Like, I think it's one of those, "just in our head" things.

Like your question. Sometimes i also think i don't appear nice in photo. Agree with you, when taking photo, it captures the moment we are posing or thinking. But most important is how we feel about when we are at the situation. Just be happy with ourselves and love ourselves...
