reedneckjj,
I am working through some of the same issues, but I have been been at for about 5 years now. I was 43 when I had 4 simultaneous strokes, which led to kidney failure, and I too have severe sleep apnea, as well as a few other "side effects" of stroke.
I force myself to make decisions everyday, as how I want to handle things. I consciously decide to keep my attitude positive, to enjoy the little moments everyday, be amused at myself and others, and to focus in on the nuances of life.
Do you have a family? I still have my youngest son in high school, so he is my inspiration. I want to see him through college, and launched safely off, for life on his own. Do you have such a person in your life?
I think good support is very helpful, when dealing with difficult medical situations.
