Lightbulb Can I mix monoxidil (Rogaine) with my own shampoo?

My basic research suggests that monoxidil is effective at 2% and marginally more effective at 5%. I'd rather not have to deal with applying a separate hair care product daily, and I'd rather not have to switch shampoos (i.e., to a shampoo that already contains monoxidil) because I'm a bïtch and like the way my girly shampoo smells.

Anyway, I've been seeing places online selling 15% monoxidil solutions, which is a silly marketing ploy since 15% monoxidil won't regrow appreciably more hair than 5%, but my thought is that I could mix it anywhere from 4:1 to 2:1 with my preferred shampoo to get a 2% - 5% solution. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work (for example, if the chemical degrades in shampoo) or is otherwise a bad idea (besides the fact that ordering drugs on the Internet is a bad idea)?

Another thing I've seen is that it is more effective if left on the scalp rather than rinsed out. Another possibility for me would be to mix it with conditioner, which I could rinse out less thoroughly or not at all.

Thanks!
