Newbie to Testosterone

I have been under the wonderful care of a noted male anti-aging doctor, Romeo Mariano, for one year. I went to see him because, at 38, I suffer some fatigue, loss of libido, mild ED, non-restful sleep, etc. He's worked to get my systemic inflamation under control by treating my adrenals, but my Test remains a problem - my total T averages in the 400s and my E2 averages around 14 (both lower than should be). After getting my diet/supplements regulated, he's decided to have me take a Test Cyp shot every week - 100mg.

I'm not a bodybuilder or anything, just a normal guy, but can some of you share your experience with this? What am I to expect in the first weeks/months of injecting Test Cyp once a week?

Also, I'm concerned about the body hair issue. I'm fairly hairy already - chest. primarily. Some on back and upper arms, but I've always been able to keep it under conrtol with laser treatment or shaving. I have a fear of turning into Sasquatch with supplemental Testosterone. Can anyone share their experience in this regard?

Also, do you have a prefered location of injection, and if so, why?

Thanks for your help,
Eisenhower

Re: Newbie to Testosterone

I inject in the butt cheek since that is the largest muscle. Testosterone shots are recommended to be injected in the largest muscle possible. It's difficult for some people because of the location, obviously! If you can't reach, you can always have someone else do it.

Second best place is the top of your thigh about halfway between your knee and your groin. I did that for a while by pinching the skin lightly to raise it up and then injected. The side of the thigh is less recommended because when you are in a sitting position the muscle there is less relaxed. The top of the thigh is relaxed. But I ran into problems like hitting veins and painful injections which resulted in blood spurting out after withdrawing the needle so I switched to buttock injections which are far less painful.

I've been doing injections for about 2 months and haven't noticed any body hair changes.

Thanks. How much T are you injecting and, though you're not seeing any body hair changes, are you feeling any positive effects?

Also, how low was your T when you started?

Re: Newbie to Testosterone

You will need to give it some time before judging your results. You will most likely notice some positive things happening after 3 or 4 weeks but things will continue to improve over the next few months. Your Dr will test you for estrogen as sometimes a sudden increase in testosterone can make it convert to estrogen which is not good. If you get sensitive nipples you most likely have high estrogen. You are not going to grow any more hair from it. This is a good Dr you are seeing and he will take great care of you. Down the road he might add HCG shots so your own production of testosterone will increase and your balls wont shrink. I use a transdermal gel which took my testosterone from 400 to 800 and my free from 5.9 to 15.

Re: Newbie to Testosterone

Yes, Dr. M is great - only half the time he's talking so far over my head I'm swimming! He's actually said my low E2 can be more of a problem than my Testosterone as far as libido, etc. I'm going to talk to him about maybe doing the Crisler protocol and running HCG and T together to keep my testicles working.

Sound like you jumping from 400 to 800 is what I'm looking for. Can you tell me the results your seeing/feeling from this?

Thanks,
Eisenhower
