Genital warts

Almost two years ago I had a large wart on the back of my hand. I went to the doctor for it but rather than freeze it off, he told me to keep it covered with duct tape and gave me a prescription for Tagamet which he said has been known to kill the virus. After about 1 1/2 months it finally went away. Fast forward about a year, now I have a smaller wart in the web of skin between my right thumb and index finger. It's not large enough to cause discomfort, but I occassionaly trim away the dead skin with a nail clipper.

About a month ago I noticed a small bump on the glans of my penis which is usually covered by a layer of dead skin, much like a wart. Since I usually masturbate with my right hand and the spot is in the area where that part of my hand would normally touch, I was wondering if it is possible I could have spread the virus from my hand to that area? I've heard herpes can be spread from the mouth to the genitals, is it possible to do this with warts too?

I'm kind of freaking out over this. I have the spot covered with a small piece of duct tape but it's too soon to tell if that is doing any good. Is there anything I can do, assuming this is a wart, to get rid of it or stop it from spreading any farther? I'll also add that I'm in my mid 30's and still a virgin so there's no chance I picked something up from someone else. I don't see that ever changing, but in the remote chance I ever would ever meet a woman and have sex, is this something I could spread to her?

Re: Genital warts

If you get it checked out and they say it isn't a wart then your mind will be put at rest. And if it is then there are different treatments available for things in the more sensitive genital area than for the hand, which can cope with harsher treatments etc.
