BIZARRE mouth symptoms, 7 docs have no ideas

I'm going to try to make this brief. I've been to my GP, two dentists, an oral surgeon, and 3 ENTs and none of them have any clue what's causing my mouth issues. I've been treated for Shingles and Pemphigus (just guesses by the docs) and neither treatment helped. Had a CT scan, much blood work, and two mouth biopsies (OUCH!), no answers. Only that my SED rate is slightly elevated (23). So here's what I've been experiencing. Can anyone relate or have any suggestions? BTW, all docs agree there's no gingivitis or even anything visible at all that they can see.

This began suddenly, like overnight, in the middle of July.

My mouth feels like it has enough saliva, but my saliva is not slippery enough, thus causing immense friction between my tongue and gums on insides of tops teeth.

My top teeth sting when my tongue or saliva touches them. All of the teeth, not just around the gum line. It almost feels like there must be acid in my saliva. The feeling is like licking a 9 volt battery.

My gums, on the insides of my teeth, and the roof of my mouth feel like someone has been sanding them with coarse sandpaper! They feel very raw, but there is no visible irritation. There is some grit that forms also, like small sand.

I developed several lumps in the left side of my hard palate. They are NOT blisters, just painful hard lumps, that by the end of the day cause headaches and eye/nose pain on the left side.

By the end of the day, the friction is so bad that I cannot talk anymore, and my evenings are spent doing everything I can to keep my tongue from touching any part of my upper mouth.

I am now nauseous all the time and feel "sea sick" in my head.

BTW...NOTHING helps. Have tried Evoxac for dry mouth (which isn't really the problem anyway), Biotene, Oasis, mouth gels, Xylitol gum, Natural Dentist rinse, every sensitive toothpaste out there, etc. The only thing that helps temporarily (like for 10 minutes) is to swish Maalox in my mouth. It helps the burning in my gums a bit, but then it comes right back.

Can anyone make any suggestions at all? I'm so stressed from doctors dismissing me because they can't see it or diagnose it. I don't know where to turn next. I even tried hypnotherepy in case it was stress induced like one doc suggested, but it's only gotten worse.

NOTE: if you have ever eaten too much spinach and felt that weird squeaky, gritty feeling it leaves in your mouth, that's part of what I feel 24/7 now.

Thanks so much to anyone who reads this. Any advice is appreciated!!!!

Have you had a metabolic or nutritional workup done to check the mineral, metal, & hormonal/chemical levels in your blood as well as an endocrin workup, etc? Have you been checked for intestional parasites; did you do any traveling abroard prior to the onset of the symptoms? Are you on any meds for any other medical condtions? Anything out of the ordinary occur prior to that July? any surgery, dental work, bleaching of teeth, bug bite (ticks, mosquito, etc) - havd you been checked for lyme, diabetes?

It doesn't really sound dental related but something that could be affecting the makeup of your mucus membrane - so I would look more to an internal cause.

Re: BIZARRE mouth symptoms, 7 docs have no ideas

Thank you for those suggestions!! No new meds or anything at all in that time frame. I actually went off the meds I had been on. I have also since stopped all of my supplements to see if any of them were causing it, but no change. The one thing that happened right at that time, and I know this is way out there, but I keep thinking about it, is that I ate a fig right from our fig tree and after I swallowed the first bite and was going to finish it I saw tons of TINY little ants all inside it. It grossed me out but I really didn't give it much more thought. Now I wonder if I got some kind of parasitic infection from that. It's the only thing that I haven't mentioned to any of the doctors because I didn't think eating a mouthful of baby ants could be too bad, but now I'm going to mention it. I have not had the tests you recommended, but I will ask for them. My SED rate is elevated slightly (23), but that's all. And I have not travelled, but had several bug bites over the summer.

Oh, I forgot to add nausea to my list of symptoms. It's getting worse and I have a sea sick feeling in my head all the time.

Thanks again, I will persue your suggestions!!!!!!!!!
