I have been on prednisone for 16 years now and I have had obvious side affects but weight gain has been the worst, is there and alternative to prednisone?
There is no anti-inflammatory that works as well as Prednisone.
Because of it's awful side effects (especially long term - diabetes, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc) most docs wean their patients off prednisone as soon as they can - as soon you find a DMARD that works for you. (Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drug)
