Sound as if she has some of the symptoms. I would take her into the doctor and request she be tested for CF based on failure to thrive and her stools. Have they run a culture on her mucus to see if she's growing anything. DS gets regular throat cultures and he once cultured pseudomonas which is a common CF bacteria, but NOT common in healthy children.

Re: my 9 month old has an everlasting cough

thankyou for your reply, we have been refered to the hospital based on her not gaining weight and her cough she has had it for ages, do you no what i should expect when we go to the hospital, and although she has some of the symptoms are they the obvious ones? and could this turn out to be absolutely nothing to worry about, as my other 2 children do not have symptoms

Re: my 9 month old has an everlasting cough

The cough could be allergy related. Maybe she picked up a virus and is having difficulty getting rid of the symptoms. But based on the diaper issues, failure to thrive... I would hope they'd run some tests to rule out CF. Maybe do a fecal fat test to see if your child is having malabsorption issues -- a symptom of cf is being able to digest fats due to pancreatic insufficiency.

Just keep pushing until you get some answers.
