Could be many things, however, if you are a sendetary person, little activity rest of the time, it most likely is due to muscles not being used that much.

If you are a reasonably active person, it could be arthritis has visited your body causing inflammation in joints. Working really lets you know inflammation is in the joints.

Try doing part of the housework on one day and rest on another day to lighten the load on inflammed joints.
