...that Cortef suppresses the immune system?

Saw my gp yesterday, who explained to me the Cortef was the reason I couldn't shake this sinus infection(got ill 2 days after my return from Vegas,Sept 27). He is not the doc who prescribed and plain old said I don't need it. I'm so confused...who do you believe...and what do you do?

What dosage are you on? If the dosage was to great then it could possibly suppress your adrenal function, but i highly doubt your doctor would stick you on a big dose and simply leave you there without retesting.

I personally don't believe that it has anything to do with your sinus infection. Why don't you either make up a saline water bath or you can buy the spray version and try using that for your sinuses.

I'm on Cortate myself, which i'd say i similar to Cortef just different brand. I've never had a sinus problem from it and have been on it for a year now. In fact i used to suffer from serious seasonal allergies and this spring i've hardly had to use my allergy spray. It's been great!!
