Angry Saliva Test

I recently went to the GP and he said my thyroid was normal. My TSH was 2.43. He referred me to an endocrinologist but the endo doesn't want to seem because everything appears normal. I just bought a saliva test to test my Cortisol. So we will see. I am so frustrated because I know something is wrong.
Symptoms:
foggy thinking
heart palpatations
allergies
anxious
weight gain (abdomen)
constipation
low blood pressure
night sweats
memory lapse
water retention
fatigue all day
acne
nervous
severe upper leg muscle weakness
headaches
depression
decreased libido
low body temp

Re: Saliva Test

I'm a big proponant of testing for cortisol and it's good to get the test. But did you ever get your free T3, free T4, and antibodies tested? Your TSH and symptoms indicate hypo and even if your docs disagree, it looks like you really need the proper testing and perhaps treatment. And if your cortisol levels come back low you still will need a good doc to treat this too.

Keep looking for a doc who knows something about thyroid and adrenal treatment. They are out there. Try posting here for a recommendation and ask local pharmacists if they have any docs precribing natural thyroid hormones-- not a guarantee, but at least indicates someone more open to that treatment.

Re: Saliva Test

I agree. It looks like your TSH is too high eventhough it is considered normal. Test your free T3 and free T4. Both values should be in the upper 60%-80% of your normal range. Not exactly but in that area.
