I feel so bad, with high heart rate, after meals why?
Hi,
I have high bp, which I take Diltiazem 90 SR twice daily, and it's under control. 120/80 most of the time.
I have had high heart rate for years and the beta-blocker were so bad, so I followed 2 weeks weaning off but that was in 2003 I guess. Anyway, I found out that Magnesium supplements really regulate and lower heart rate. And I take them ever since.
Just 1 month ago I noticed that after each meal, my heart rate goes from 68 to 80 and I feel breathless and tired.
I take Magnesium, fish oil, multi-vitamin, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin B Complex and Alpha Lipoic Acid 100mg daily. I know that's too much but if you are living in Egypt, and can't eat most of the food because it's full of toxins then you would know that it's not that much.
I feel great since I started the supplements, like 4 months ago and I don't think that it has nothing to do with my heart rate.
It's only when I eat my heart rate goes up, does anybody has any advice for me?
I don't know maybe the kind of food itself?
Thanks
Mike

120/80, most of the time, indicates that your metabolism and health are possibly in exceptional condition. Congratulations!

At least you found out what works well for you. Nice going!

You might consider reducing the size, or calorie load, of your meals and see what happens.
OTOH, a difference of 68 to 80 is usually not significant unless the heartbeat seems irritated, ectopic or strained. It is the quality of the heartbeat not the quantity that matters, in most cases. A healthy heart will beat well fast, or slow, but an unhealthy heart and coronary system, will beat badly regardless of the speed.

Sounds like a good plan!
Say, Mike...... How far do you live from the Great Pyramid of Giza?

Re: I feel so bad, with high heart rate, after meals why?
Hi dear,
I live 95 km away from Giza, and I really have been to Pyramids twice in my life. You know I have never been to Aswan and Luxor, which contain most of the ancient stuff.
All what I know man is that when my heart rate between 60 and 70 I feel good and higher makes me feel bad. I guess it has something to do with food so I will try to lower my meal load lol.
Magnesium is great but I can't take it 3 times a day, I take 200mg elemental magnesium from Citrate, Orotate and Aspartate.
