Sleeping Positions

Is there anyone else that feels the same way as me? I am trying my best to sleep on my left side at night. I wake up tossing and turning from side to side because I have a bad pain in both of hips .. whatever side I am laying on is the hip that hurts.. maybe its because of my weight? I dunno.

Re: Sleeping Positions

I have tried everything. Pillows. bed, couch, recliner...my hips and/or legs seem to fall asleep and get numb. I did have a dr's appt today. He said there's so much stuff (baby, etc) pushing on everything, he could be leaning on nerves. There are alot of muscles by your hips etc also. I did buy a maternity pillow that is kind of shaped like a huge letter C. It worked for a bit. Instead of waking up at 2am with numb legs, it was 530...so I enjoyed the few extra hourse.

The best for me has been sleeping in the recliner, a little upright, not all the way reclined. My legs don't bother me that way. Yes, it sucks not being able to sleep in bed, but I need sleep. Dr says it's important to be well rested. (which is tough with kids and everything else, but I'll try) SO this weekend, I'm thinking we need to go recliner shopping to find the perfect one. I love my sleep! But miss it.

Good luck. If you Do find a great position that works, please let me know.

Thanks--

Re: Sleeping Positions

I THINK I have found something that works!! It's still a little early to tell as I just got it two days ago..lol.. It's like this travel pillow that you inflate. I seen it in the Avon book that my sister-in-law had and decided to give it a go.. I used it for the past two nights and guess what? NO PAIN!.. I hope it continues. It's small enough to just fit between my knees and blows up just the right size without it being like a big bulky pillow in the bed. I will let ya know if it continues as I was at my witts end and I still have another 5 months to go..

Re: Sleeping Positions

the one thing i found that helped me sleep was those long body pillows.
i get stiff when i sleep one my side to much & its getting to the point i cant sleep on my tummy anymore.
with the body pillow i can hug & kinda roll a little forward & also swing my leg over it
those pillows also came in handy when i delivered my 1st. they were great in those horribly uncomfortable hospital beds!
