Shortness of Breath

I am having a very hard time trying to get that "deep" breath - I went to the doctor last Thursday - they did an EKG and chest X-RAY- I do have dull chest pain all across my chest - which seems to have come and gone for years! Even funny feelings in my neck sometimes with the chest pain. Anyway - my shortness of breath is all day - not just once a day or so - it is anytime - when I'm doing nothing or doing somethin. Sometimes I can get that deep breath, sometimes have to yawn and sometimes it's really hard to get the yawn to work! I am so aggravated - the doctor told me to take ADVAIR which I haven't tried yet - alot of side effects it seems - but I am to the point to do anything to breath! I quit smoking 8 years ago - I do have some COPD which the X-ray did show - I am 52 yrs. old. If this is how I am going to be I can't cope like this. I have had nasal congestion - usually get that in the fall - so I'm wondering if that has something to do with the breathing. I have made an appt. to go back to the doctor tomorrow!
