Edamame

I was snacking on some edamame (soy bean) this morning when one of my friends said that people with blood sugar issues should not eat soy products - I have yet to hear that although I AM new to the game.

Is that true?

Re: Edamame

I have never heard it either. Soy is a good source of protein and healthy fats.

Re: Edamame

Edamame is whole soybeans, which may have a different effect on blood sugar than more processed soybean products (which may differ from each other in blood sugar effect). Although soybeans are not that high in carbohydrates to begin with (mostly fat and protein).
