Lateral Heel Shift Osteotomy after a left foot anterior Tendon Transfer

Hi in 1988 I had an anterior left foot tibialis transfer (tendon transfer) all going fine until recently I have had excrutiating pain in my left foot to the point where it is crippling. A doctor here suggested I undergo a Lateral heel shift osteotomy! I am a bit silly and googled this to find actual operational pictures of this procedure. Can anyone tell me from their experience what to expect in regards to pain, recovery time, if you are in the same position and are nervous we can discuss here, also if you have had the operation already and have recovered how successful was the operation for you? Thank you.
