Money

mom seems to be obsessed with money. She has to have something in her purse. she will spend the whole day obsessing over it. So, since she doesn't pay for anything anymore I put monopoly money in her wallet. It has worked for now. She feels wealthy. Hopefully she does not try to spend it or I probably will be up on counterfeiting charges

Re: Money

My Mom went through that same phase. I didn't think of Monopoly money, so I put 10 or 15 one dollar bills in her wallet - it felt like a lot of money to her, but if she lost it it was not a disaster ...

Love,

Martha

Re: Money

Money to many means having control, so your mom having money in her wallet makes her feel that she still has some control left. Mom has commented to me that she doesn't have a dime left, that they took it all away. I want to send her some for Xmas, and while the one dollar bills is a excellent idea, in this country, the paper currency starts at $5 dollar bills, anything under that is in coin. I guess I could send her a few $5 bills.

Re: Money

why not go to the bank and get some US currency and get a lot of ones, then put them in your moms wallet...

Re: Money

Oh yeah. They still want their money. I am always battling the "money" problem. The latest is that my almost 86 year old mother wants to get a job!!

We keep money in her wallet...that I now have permanently attached to her purse. But she forgets the money is in there. Always complaining about it. They feel so helpless and out of control.

Love, Meg
