Just diagnosed...fatigue is unbearable...

Hi. I new to this board. I was recently diagnosed with Fibro (I also have "some type of arthritis...possibly RA, but my doc isn't ready to make an official diagnosis yet" and Celiac Disease). The fatigue is just unbearable. Any advice on what to do with the fatigue? Should I sleep when I'm tired or try to push through it? I'm so glad I found this site.

I am on lyrica and it helps alitte with fatigue. Have you tried malic acid for fatigue? I was taking it before lyrica and it also helped alittle bit.

Welcome to the forum......soft hug.

When the fatigue is really bad regardless of meds, vitamins, exercising, etc. you just have to "give in" to it. You can't fight it, you won't win. You just need to rest, keep yourself warm, drink warm fluids, treat your body as if you have the flu...which is exactly how fibro feels at times. Trying to "push through" will only make your flare worse and last longer. This is my experience. Feel better!

Re: Just diagnosed...fatigue is unbearable...

I'm a teacher and have been fighting the fatigue since the school year started. During the summer, when I was off, I found that if I went for a while, rested, that I could go some more, then rest, go some more. I even find that on the weekends that going and resting works best for me. I just wish I could find a way to rest during the school day...

Misha, there's a great post for teachers under the "Working Parents With Fibro" thread. It is a letter that a teacher with FMS wrote to her principal, try to find it if you can. I'm not a teacher but other's who are wrote in that it would be a tremendous help to them.
