hida scan does it hurt?

my GI doc wants to do a hida scan, procedure what to be expected ? i have a lot of pressure and bloating after eating! does this sound like a gall bladder problem?

The HIDA scan with CCK is the definitive test for gallbladder function.

Pressure and bloating can be symptoms of gallbladder disease. Other common symptoms can include, nausea, burping, diarrhea, pale bowel movements, stomach noise, pain under the right ribs, pain under the left ribs, generalized pain in the back, pain in the right shoulder, etc.

Generally the HIDA scan test does not hurt. However, when they inject CCK which causes your gallbladder to contract it can cause discomfort in some people. On the other hand the results should definitively tell your Dr. whether the gallbladder needs to come out.

I just had this test done a few days ago and it did not effect me, meaning I did not get nasuea on the second part were they inject you with I think cck. They were waiting for me to get nausea or dry heeve but it never happened. Though I have nausea all the time and go through bouts of naseau and abdominal pain that will last for hours. I'm still waiting for the results though, should get em hopefully tomorrow... Good Luck with your test, it's not that bad at all...
