Three Weeks into Cymbalta program...

I think I am just now feeling the BAD side effects of starting Cymbalta. I get so hot and sweaty I feel like I am on fire, and then the chills. Is this normal? Does it stop? The pain I had has gotten SO much better, though. It's tolerable, if it stops eventually. I am on a 30mg dose. I am getting very spacy too, at times. Thanks for any advice offered

Re: Three Weeks into Cymbalta program...

i remember doing the sweating and chills. i'm not on cymbalta anymore. now i am on lyrica and sevalla. these do the same thing to me. i wear shorts and sleeveless shirts everyday but i have a nice fluffy housecoat nearby when the chills take over. sleeves also make my arms hurt worse.
i think you may want to check to see if the sweating and chills are a serious side effect. if not and it helps your pain, i would continue to take this.
i meant to tell you when i am on cymbalta, it is for the pain between my shoulders on my back. when the pain goes away, i wean back off of it. my pain returns usually once a year, then i am back on the cymbalta for usually 3 or 4 months. this is what my doctor and i agreed on. here's to blissful days ahead

If you aren't on any other medicines and you are not in menopause then one could assume you are having side effects from Cymbalta. I took it for a few months but It did nothing for the pain of my fibro. Good luck.

Re: Three Weeks into Cymbalta program...

Excessive sweating is a side effect of Cymbalta. I started on 30 mgs. Now I am on 90 mgs a day. The intense sweating has leveled off some, but I still do have extremes of sweating and then chills. But it helps with the pain....so.

All the best to you in your search for something that helps!!!

Hugs,

Pam
